Our Approach

Our Heritage

The story of Blue Bird Holdings is one of resilience, ambition, and a commitment to excellence that transcends generations. Rooted in the strength of our Lebanese ancestry, our family’s journey began with humble origins and has evolved into a legacy of entrepreneurial success and impactful contributions to Brazil’s growth.

1900
Humble Origins

Elias and Feiz, the family’s patriarchs, immigrate to Brazil from Zahle, Lebanon, in search of refuge from a devastating famine. Their journey embodies the strength and resilience of their heritage, laying a solid foundation for future generations.

1920s
Entrepreneurial Spirit

Embracing the entrepreneurial spirit typical of Lebanese immigrants, the brothers thrive in commerce. After years as traveling textile merchants, they establish their first textile store, marking the beginning of their business journey.

1950s
Financial Acumen

Success in the textile trade paves the way for expansion, culminating in the strategic acquisition of a small bank. This move highlights their financial expertise and unwavering commitment to growth.

1960s
Real Estate Development and Urban Landmark

The family diversifies into the real estate market, rapidly becoming prominent developers in Brazil. Recognizing the potential presented by São Paulo’s expansion, they construct the Mirante do Vale, the tallest building in the city for over 48 years.

1970s Exploring Agriculture

The family expands into the sugar and ethanol sectors, as well as the pulp and paper industries, through the establishment of Ripasa. This marks their significant entry into Brazil’s agribusiness landscape and further diversifies their portfolio.

1980s Growth and Expansion

Continuing to evolve, the family propels Ripasa to become Latin America’s second-largest pulp producer. Their construction business also flourishes, underscoring their sustained influence across multiple industries.

1990s Going Public

Ripasa successfully completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO), unlocking international market opportunities and providing the family with the capital to further expand their business interests.

2000s Strategic Evolution

Ripasa is sold to a Brazilian conglomerate, enabling the family to strategically realign their focus. They establish Blue Bird Holdings to manage their real estate portfolio, pursue direct investments, and optimize international asset allocation for continued growth.
